On the bench

Pneumatics is the part of the hobby where a model stops being clever and starts being convincing. Air does what air does: a cylinder moves slowly under load, holds position, and gives a little when something pushes back, which is exactly how real machinery behaves. This set carries one large cylinder, a cylinder air pump, a pressure rod, a smaller pump, a switch and the connecting hardware, which is a complete single circuit.

How it behaves in a build

One circuit is the right place to start. Build a tipping bed, a boom lift or a gripper, get the switch and the airflow working, and you will understand the system well enough to plan a multi cylinder machine. The moulding tolerance is what makes a pneumatic set work or leak, and these are cut on high precision tooling with seals that hold pressure through a build session rather than sighing down in a minute.

Fit and compatibility

Compatible with other branded pneumatic parts, so cylinders and tubing from an existing set join this circuit directly.

More ASTEM technic parts: gears, axles and compatible building block sets

The rest of the ASTEM collection is a click away, drawer by drawer. We measure before we pack: technic gear teeth, axle cross and pin fit, so the building set you open is compatible with the LEGO® parts on your table. Most of what we fix comes from builders writing in; a customer note about the experience of opening a bag beats any lab test.
