On the bench

Buying a motor and buying the parts to mount it are usually two separate errands. This bundle collapses them. The parts side brings beams, pins and connectors in the usual useful mix; the power side brings M, L, XL and servo motors, an infrared remote and receiver, a battery box, extension cables, and the gears and axles needed to get drive from the motor shaft to whatever you are turning.

How it behaves in a build

Having four motor classes in one set is the quietly valuable bit. An M motor is right for a small function, an L for general drive, an XL where torque matters, and a servo where you need a known angle rather than continuous rotation. Trying all four against the same model teaches you more about mechanical design than any amount of reading. The structural parts hold firmly enough that a motorised model survives being carried across a room.

Fit and compatibility

Designed against the major technic systems, so the motors and the mounting parts both fit a collection already in progress.

More ASTEM technic parts: gears, axles and compatible building block sets

This is one drawer of a longer bench; the ASTEM collection covers the rest of the job. We measure before we pack: technic gear teeth, axle cross and pin fit, so the building set you open is compatible with the LEGO® parts on your table. The experience a customer has with the first gear train is the thing we chase, and builders keep us honest about it.
