In the pack

  • Modelers who build freight yards, industrial sidings or multi track layouts rely heavily on high precision turnouts—this WL/WR set provides smooth routing between mainlines and branch lines
  • Made from high grade nickel silver rail material, offering excellent electrical conductivity, low oxidation, and durable long term performance
  • Precision engineered turnout mechanism ensures smooth, derailment free switching at both low and high speeds
  • The R10 branch radius (34.96"/888mm) allows for wide, natural looking curves commonly used in realistic HO mainlines

On the bench

Turnouts bought singly tend to be the wrong hand. Buying a left and a right together means you can build a crossover, a yard ladder or a pair of opposed sidings without a second order, and the fifteen degree angle is the gentle one — long enough to look right under a full length car and kind to longer wheelbases than a sharp turnout would be.

How it behaves in a build

The rail is high grade nickel silver, chosen for conductivity and resistance to oxidation, which on a turnout matters twice over: once for the running rails and once for the frog, where a locomotive briefly has fewer wheels picking up current. The mechanism is engineered to switch cleanly at both crawling and running speeds, which is the real test — plenty of turnouts work at one speed and throw a car off at the other.

Fit and compatibility

HO gauge nickel silver turnouts, joining directly to our straight and curved sections.

More ASTEM technic parts: gears, axles and compatible building block sets

Our collection is sorted so the next thing you need is one drawer over. Across the technic shelves the geometry is constant — one technic gear module, one axle cross, one pin diameter — which is what makes a mixed building set LEGO® compatible in practice. The experience a customer has with the first gear train is the thing we chase, and builders keep us honest about it.
